MORE TUBE STRIKES on the London Underground are in the pipeline. And they could go ahead on April 29, when Prince William weds Kate Middleton. Other industrial action may be timed to coincide with the 2012 London Olympics.
These strikes are part of the TUCs fightback against Con-Dem government cuts. Various unions are hoping to co-ordinate strikes in protest at the cuts. Solidarity members are urged to support the protests against the ConDem austerity measures.
So far, ASLEF – the Associated Society of Locomotive Engineers and Firemen - have indicated that tube drivers may strike in April. Unite – ‘Britain’s biggest union’ - have also considered industrial action during the games next year.
